Encounters with the unknown (2019)
Inspired by Sci-Fi, Comic Books and Magical Realism, these 10 concepts depict situations where the protagonists meet something that escapes comprehension. From an prehistoric animal triggered by something wierd, to the mysteries of space and all it's dread. Each one of them works perfectly as a whole story but, are they all connected?
01 - Chronicle of thought.
An Ichthyostega adamantly chases a weird compelling object out of water, triggering curiosity on the prehistoric beast, also finding a new environment to explore and develop.
02 - Audience with the Great Martian God.
A god from a nearby planet explains the Drake's Equation to the elder of the tribe, who fails to comprehend the thunder words of the prodigious entity.
03 - Infestation.
An ancient temple is infested with carnivorous predator plants that mean serious threat to the inhabitants, who think it's a world ending omen.
04 - Miracle in Katzenburgh.
In a foreing kingdom, the royal family meets an extraterrestrial visitant who brings a message of awareness, but the still primitive contactees believe it's a religious event, all except the local witch who sees beyond.
05 - The horror of the Beauvoir Mine.
During the industrial revolution, two detectives are sent to investigate a series of gruesome deaths in a southern mine, only to find themselves stalked and preyed by something ancient and hungry.
06 - Whatever happened last night.
For days, it's been told about strange lights in the sky and weird visitors who enter the homes of the villagers during starry nights in a remote town in the arid regions of America.
07 - The guest of Doña Esperanza.
In the rural Mexico, a solitaire grandma is frequently visited by a curious alien. Unable to communicate with each other via oral language she started knitting him(?) a scarf as a token of friendship.
08 - Night visitation.
A young woman is approached by an interdimensional being, curious about the brain waves of her sleep, unknowingly pulls her clothes in an awkward way to hold her for study.
09 - The golden age of supervillains.
A bouquet of flowers and a gratitude note are seen adorning the death scene of the last superhero. In a lawless world overrun by corrupt powered people, love and kindness are being slowly forgotten.
10 - Red shift.
A distant explosion sends out an astronaut to an endless trajectory, constantly increasing velocity until eventually reaches the infrared distances of the light spectrum, becoming light itself.
